This alto saxophone has been designed by Roy Benson for children purposely to fill the gap between the curved soprano and the regular alto. It is well suited to their morphology both in size and fingers positioning. A special S-shaped tenor-like bocal, S shape, reduces the size of approx. 5 cm to the instrument, buttons offset to fit finger gap and left hand keypad raised to avoid extension of the little finger. Same guidelines used for the right hand with keyboard raised to avoid the extensions.
This design, in the Eb tonality, allows professors to use the classical learning methods of the alto saxophone. Also, the mouthpiece is standard, and the student will not need to change it when he passes on a standard alto saxophone.
The sound quality and the intonation are identical to that of model SG-302, and there is no acoustical change with this model, only ergonomic changes. Keys are stable and durable, bell is removable for maintenance. The instrument is delivered with lightweight case with backpack straps and a harness to better distribute weight. We propose it with a two year guarantee by our workshop.
