Founded in 1890 in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA, Squier was acquired in 1965 by Fender as the brand under which it offers more affordable versions, made in Asia, of its guitar models, including a few amps. Squiers are currently good quality instruments, addressed to beginners and to those looking for a backup for their gear, or wish to explore new tonal possibilities without too important a financial commitment.
An accessible take on the sixties Strat, the Classic Vibe 60’s focuses on straightforward feel and an immediately familiar tone. The slim C neck and 9.5" radius provide an easy, unobstructed playing surface, with narrow tall frets that respond well to bends and chord work.
The three Alnico single-coils reproduce the clear, slightly scooped character of period models. The 5-way selector covers all expected voices: bright bridge tones, hollow intermediate positions, and a round neck sound suited to blues or clean funk.
The vintage 6-saddle tremolo stays stable with a proper setup and preserves classic Fender styling. The whole instrument is coherent, simple, reliable, aimed at beginners as well as players who want a straightforward, lightweight Strat with an effective Aztec Gold look.
