The DM8 is equipped with 22 pre-set drum kits and 10 customizable user kits. It also features 300 percussion sounds and a sampling function that allows you to create your own sounds. The mesh heads provide a natural playing feel, while the brass cymbals deliver precise and dynamic sound. It has a headphone jack for silent practice, an auxiliary input for playing along with your favorite tracks, and a line output for connecting to a recorder or mixer. It also includes an effects loop for adding your favorite pedals to your sound.
