The Quad Cortex Mini brings the full concept of the original Quad Cortex into a much smaller footprint, with the same success: it is a complete rig for guitar or bass players who want amp modeling, effects processing, and recording capabilities in a single device. The reduced format mainly affects the physical controls, not the sonic capabilities, and it's impressive to see the touch interface on it.
The internal engine is the same as the flagship model, including Neural DSP’s amp modeling and Neural Capture technology. This system allows users to capture the behaviour of real amplifiers, cabinets, drives, fuzzes or entire signal chains, creating highly accurate digital replicas that preserve dynamic response and touch sensitivity.
The interface is centred around a large 7-inch colour touchscreen and a grid-based workflow where amps, effects, and routing blocks can be placed visually. Four rotary footswitches act both as stomp switches and parameter encoders. The Focus system automatically maps key parameters to the switches, allowing quick adjustments during performance.
The built-in library already includes a wide range of amp models, effects, cabinet simulations, impulse responses, and thousands of Neural Captures. Through Cortex Cloud, users can also download community-created captures and presets, greatly expanding the available tonal palette.
This unit can be used for both stage (yes, absolutely) and studio use, the Quad Cortex Mini includes extensive connectivity and works as a multi-channel USB audio interface. It can function as a complete live rig feeding directly into a PA system, a recording interface for DAW workflows, or a central hub for MIDI-controlled setups.
