Gibson has forever engraved its name in the hall of fame of guitar, from jazz to rock, blues and metal. Founded in 1894 by Orville H. Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, the company has revolutionized the guitar world with technical and aesthetic innovations such as the humbuckers or the Flying V, Explorer and Firebird shapes. With ambassadors like Charlie Christian and Slash, or Tommi Iommi and, of course, Lester Polfus, Gibson crosses the ages and musical styles, and stands out as a must-have brand of guitar, both electric and acoustic.
This Gibson Les Paul Standard 50's is a bow to Gibson's legendary 50's era. Every note of this guitar pays homage to the golden age of rock 'n' roll. Its elegant contours and meticulous finish recall the revolutionary beginnings of amplified music. It has a superb flamed maple top, and we find it quite light (it's all relative though), and very resonant.
The lutherie of this Les Paul Standard 50's remains faithful to the very essence of Gibson. On the rosewood neck with a fairly flat radius, even on a thick 50's profile, you get a soft grip and fluid playability. The massive body, with no acoustic chambers or weight-relief, maintains exceptional resonance and sustain. Burstbucker 1 & 2 Alnico II pickups, reminiscent of the legendary PAF, add vintage soul to every note, capturing the essence of the period that shaped music history. Warm, enveloping tones, sharp, powerful riffs, this Les Paul Standard 50's reproduces every nuance of playing with remarkable dynamics.
