Gibson has forever engraved its name in the hall of fame of guitar, from jazz to rock, blues and metal. Founded in 1894 by Orville H. Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, the company has revolutionized the guitar world with technical and aesthetic innovations such as the humbuckers or the Flying V, Explorer and Firebird shapes. With ambassadors like Charlie Christian and Slash, or Tommi Iommi and, of course, Lester Polfus, Gibson crosses the ages and musical styles, and stands out as a must-have brand of guitar, both electric and acoustic.
The Les Paul Metallic Silverburst takes the classic Gibson formula and adds a finish that immediately stands out. The Silverburst top, a metallic silver fading into darker edges, shifts subtly under stage lights and gives the guitar a strong visual identity somewhere between vintage elegance and post-rock attitude.
The body combines a mahogany back with a maple top, the pairing that defines the Les Paul sound. Mahogany provides depth and sustain, while maple adds clarity and attack. On modern Studio versions, Ultra-Modern weight relief helps keep the instrument comfortable without sacrificing the sustain that Les Pauls are known for.
The glued mahogany neck features Gibson’s Slim Taper profile, fast and comfortable in the hand. The rosewood fingerboard with classic trapezoid inlays keeps the familiar Les Paul feel, ideal for bends, heavy riffs and singing lead lines. The 24.75" scale length delivers the slightly softer string tension that many players associate with the Gibson playing experience.
The guitar is fitted with a pair of Burstbucker Pro humbuckers with Alnico V magnets. The neck pickup produces a warm, rounded tone suited for thick rhythms and bluesy cleans, while the bridge pickup adds bite and definition for rock leads and driven tones. Push-pull volume controls allow coil splitting, expanding the palette toward brighter, single-coil-like sounds.
A Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with aluminum stopbar ensures tuning stability and strong sustain, while Vintage Deluxe Keystone tuners keep everything solid and reliable. The overall result stays true to the Les Paul character: thick lows, strong mids that cut through the mix, and a response that pairs perfectly with tube amplifiers.
