Fulltone Fulldrive 3

The Fulltone Fulldrive 3 is an overdrive pedal with a JFET preamp that “faithfully reproduces the warm and dynamic character of tube amps.” It features two independent channels, Overdrive and Boost, with a switch that allows you to choose the Boost-Overdrive order (which is a fantastic idea). The three clipping modes (90’s, Wide Asymmetrical, and Comp-Cut) expand its versatility by offering a range of textures, from classic to modern. The Dynamics knob, equipped with a germanium diode limiter, adds even more precision by subtly adjusting the attack and response to the signal.

And since you’re wondering, the Fulltone Fulldrive 3 stands apart from the Fulldrive 2 primarily due to its 20% smaller size, the new Wide Asymmetrical clipping mode, which adds more brightness and clarity, providing a modern alternative to the classic clipping options of the Fulldrive 2. The redesigned Boost channel, which now works not only as a clean boost for your amp but also as an internal boost for the Overdrive, is another significant improvement. Lastly, the FD3 is generally darker than the FD2 Mosfet. This slightly warmer and more balanced character allows the FD3 to adapt to a wider range of styles and configurations (breaking out of classic rock territory, essentially).
