When we choose guitars from our suppliers, we have the great pleasure to do it live: no catalog selection based on specs! And when we take them in hand, we pay attention to several things: that they are well built, that they sound like a dream, and that they have that "je ne sais quoi" as Americans say when they try to speak French. This Stratocaster is equipped with all these features.
The alder body consists of two carefully selected and matched pieces that provide a warm resonance and vibrant sound. The quartersawn maple neck is precise, and its 60's Oval C profile is very comfortable. The frets mounted on the rosewood fingerboard (which is very silky) are jumbo frets, which allows you to play with more pressure than vintage frets, be more aggressive in its expression, and take more freedom in terms of touch.
The hand-wound pickups are Texas Specials, whose timbre is usually quite pronounced in the midrange. It is indeed the case here, and the bridge position is almost a bit too piercing: the doctor prescribes to reduce the volume a bit to find the perfect spot where the presence balances with the lows. On the other hand, you gain from this when you play in the middle/bridge intermediate position since you don't get lost in the mix, as is sometimes the case. The neck pickup is bright and round and sounds like a piano: it is clear, rich in harmonics, and very luxuriant.
Delivered in its CS case with the usual accessories and certificate of authenticity, this guitar is guaranteed for 2 years in our workshop.
