The Eventide H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 is an outstanding compact multi-effects pedal that brings Eventide’s most renowned processing algorithms to a pedalboard-friendly format. It retains the spirit of the original H9 while introducing a far more hands-on interface and an expanded sound library.

Its modern ARM-based platform provides access to 74 algorithms drawn from the H90 and H9 Max libraries. Delays, reverbs, pitch shifting, modulation and harmonizer effects: the pedal covers a vast sonic range, with the precise, structured character for which Eventide is known. It runs one algorithm at a time, but each algorithm offers enough depth to create highly detailed sounds, from subtle enhancement to more radical processing.

With more than 1,000 factory presets, an expression input, an auxiliary input, USB-C and Bluetooth, the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 is a fully fledged effects processor that rewards thoughtful programming. The large display, three Quick Knobs and dedicated buttons clearly transform the experience compared with the original H9. Navigation is faster, essential parameters can be adjusted without relying on an app, and the Select, Bank and Perform modes make the pedal much more practical for live use. Spillover between presets prevents abrupt cuts when switching sounds.
