DESCRIPTION

The Blackstar TV-10 B Combo is a compact all-tube amp, simple in design and voiced for classic British tones. Ten watts, one channel, two voicings: the approach stays direct, with enough response for home practice, recording or small-stage use without bringing out a pointlessly brutal 50-watt head.

The EL34 power tube gives the TV-10 B a mid-rich character, more nervous and more forward than the American 6L6 version. The clean sound remains clear and fairly open, with some bite, and takes overdrive pedals well. The 12" Celestion Seventy-80 speaker adds even more presence to cut through a mix without having to push the amp flat out.

Drive/Boost mode moves into progressive crunch, with a grain suited to classic rock, punk, indie and rhythm parts that need to attack a little. The single Tone control does not allow for surgical EQ shaping, but it keeps the amp simple and pushes you to adjust the sound with the guitar, the pickups and the attack.

The onboard reverb, series effects loop with level switch, speaker outputs and emulated line/headphone output make the combo practical for rehearsals, studio work or silent playing. The included footswitch controls Boost and reverb. Basically: British grain, a reasonable format and a delicious tone.
