The Nacho Telecaster 52 Blackguard Aged Butterscotch Blonde is a remarkable re-creation of the early Blackguard Telecasters, featuring an ash body with an aged nitro Butterscotch Blonde finish that channels a 1950s vibe. It’s about as close to a genuine vintage feel as you’ll get. Everything is spot-on, both technically and in the guitar’s overall presence. This goes well beyond just a well-shaped neck or a great relic job.
In terms of craftsmanship, the maple neck offers a natural feel, with a faithful and typical early/mid-1950s medium soft V. Its 7,25" radius and 95/47 medium frets make for smooth bends and easy playability across the fretboard. The neck dimensions stay faithful to the period.
The Blackguard-style pickups recreate the cutting tone of original Telecasters. Their DC resistance is listed around 7,61k ohms for the neck a 7,77k ohms for the bridge. The electronics include a humbucker mode in the middle position, adding power and tonal depth if needed.
A vintage-style bridge with compensated brass saddles follows the first Telecaster designs, and the phenolic resin pickguard—cut and aged—completes the Blackguard aesthetic. A light weight of about 3,12 kg keeps the guitar responsive, resonant and comfortable.
We were blown away by the attention to detail: every mark of wear, each component, and every measurement revives the essence of those pioneering Telecasters. This is not just any vintage Blackguard Tele, but a great one. It has all the right nuances: feel, vibe, and sound.
