As you may have guessed, the Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster 54 70th Anniversary JRN Relic 2-Tone Sunburst celebrates 70 years of success at the forefront of rock. It replicates some of the most iconic Stratocasters, and its JRN Relic Faded 2-Tone Sunburst finish gives it a worn and authentic look, reminiscent of the legendary instruments of the 50s. The ash body resonates with a rich, dynamic warmth, balanced mids, and crisp highs—a perfect blend of tradition and performance. The instrument as a whole delivers a superb resonance, allowing us to rediscover the pure and authentic sound of the 1954 Stratocasters, with all the attention to detail from the Custom Shop in terms of feel.
The maple neck with its 70th Anniversary C profile offers excellent playability. Although slightly thicker than a traditional profile, it remains perfectly comfortable, providing great support for a variety of playing styles, from powerful chord strikes to expressive solos. The maple fingerboard, with its compensated radius of 7.25" to 9.5", combines smooth bends with precision for chord work, making it suitable for both fast playing and more moderate rhythms.
The Handwound 54 Strat Single Coils deliver a crystal-clear sound, with that signature vibrant and cutting "twang" that defines Stratocasters. Their unmatched clarity and sharp attack suit everything from sparkling arpeggios to biting riffs. The middle pickup brings excellent coherence in the in-between positions and reduces interference, delivering a more balanced and precise sound. It sounded incredible through every amp we connected it to (pretty much all the ones in the shop).
