Under the hood, this Jazzmaster is fitted with two Handwound Jazzmaster Flat Magnet pickups, expertly wound by the Custom Shop (though sadly, the names of the winders seem to have been lost to history). These pickups deliver a rich and detailed tonal palette, ranging from warm, rounded textures in the rhythm circuit to bright, biting tones in the lead mode. In short, it growls and bites with authority. The 3-way toggle switch, paired with the rhythm circuit’s dedicated rollers, offers immense sonic versatility—though let’s face it, most of us stick to two settings. The floating vibrato system ensures solid sustain, while the resonance of this guitar compensates for any perceived limitations, making it an outstanding player.
