Gibson has forever engraved its name in the hall of fame of guitar, from jazz to rock, blues and metal. Founded in 1894 by Orville H. Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, the company has revolutionized the guitar world with technical and aesthetic innovations such as the humbuckers or the Flying V, Explorer and Firebird shapes. With ambassadors like Charlie Christian and Slash, or Tommi Iommi and, of course, Lester Polfus, Gibson crosses the ages and musical styles, and stands out as a must-have brand of guitar, both electric and acoustic.

The VOS (Vintage Original Spec) range is a Custom Shop production that carefully recreates the brand's historical models, strictly respecting the specifications and selecting all the components (wood, electronics, etc.) and aging them in a light and meticulous way in order to offer instruments of exceptional quality, faithful to their origins and providing sensations identical to what a guitar produced at the time would have been, which would not have been played, and carefully maintained during all this time.

Built to the historic specs of the Les Paul as Gibson made it in 1959, this Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul '59 VOS in Iced Tea Burst finish is a little gem. It has all the classic qualities of a Les Paul of its time (well, the time it takes us on a journey to): a mahogany body with a figured AAA maple top, a mahogany neck with a 59 Authentic Medium profile, a rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius, a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Stop Bar tailpiece, Keystone-style tuners, and a beautiful Iced Tea Burst, which gives that slightly faded feel that Les Paul fans love (it's true that it's classy).

This one has a very average weight, meaning it's not too heavy for a Les Paul, and yet not really light for an electric guitar. That's the deal, and in exchange, you really get a guitar with a big tone, a good sustain, and a resonance that will enchant the amps you'll plug it into. In fact, that's exactly what we got: in a tweed, breakup was imminent as soon as we approached the first third of the volume, and once the amp was crunching, switching to neck pickups or reducing the volume allowed us to quickly clean up the sound without losing dynamics for at least 3/4 of the travel of the knob. Blues, jazz, pop, hard-rock... The only thing impossible on this guitar is to have a bad tone.
