Founded in 1976 by David Schecter, Schecter Guitars Research is an American guitar maker that started by producing guitar parts. Crafted mainly in the United States and in Korea, Schecter guitars have been seen in the hands of musicians such as Pete Townshend, Prince, Mark Knopfler and Jeff Loomis. The quality of the Korean production is akin to that of many American or Japanese ones. Quite metal-oriented, Schecter guitars have earned a completely legitimate fame thanks to great build-quality, original designs and very typical tones.

With a deep resonant ash body and a dense (and therefore stable) roasted maple neck, this Schecter Van Nuys Traditional features quality craftsmanship. Its 2 single-coils/1 humbucker configuration offers great versatility, and will make you able to tackle all styles, with a slight bias towards rock/hard-rock. The Schecter USA pickups have a rather vintage sound, meaning that the single-coils have the characteristic brightness of the 60's Strats, and the humbucker is modeled on the PAF. The hardware is well made, and will remain reliable in the long run.
