The mention of Cream in the name of this Marshall Origin 20W amp head refers of course to the color, which is superb, of this amp, that the gold of the trimmings enhances still further to give an object in itself already very beautiful. But it also tells us about the sound that this Marshall head delivers thanks to two EL34 and some simple but devilishly effective settings. The cleans, although a bit wild, are very open, and 20 watts provide enough headroom to make full use of it on stage as well as in the studio. The crunches on the other hand are completely saturated in very very fat volts, and inhabited by the spirit of the Marshall sound: a succulent overdrive which injects its fringe of excess to cover the sound with harmonics in a great clarity, with a very natural feeling compression.
